As is pointed out below, the SpaceX Falcon rocket will do more launches and carry more payload to orbit this year than the Space Shuttle did in its entire history
Falcon 9 vs Space Shuttle, all launches in one chart. F9 is on track to launch more times in 2025 alone than the Space Shuttle has in its history. Hard to overstate how successful SpaceX’s approach to reusability has been.
There are only two launches in history that put more payload mass in orbit than Starship Flight 14. And that’s with only 26 Starlink satellites. Future launches will carry up to 60.
Every rocket launched in 2026
Q1 is almost over and SpaceX has expanded its lead over the rest of the world. One company launches more rockets than all other companies *and* world governments combined (that includes other American companies and NASA)
SpaceX launched 12 rockets in February, the rest of the world launched 6.
SpaceX has launched more since the first Falcon 1 in 2006 than the rest of the US (including NASA) has since 1997. Starship is so ambitious that it’s easy to forget how much Falcon 9 has achieved. 130+ launches this year alone.
@ScottLikedSLS pointed out that there is an issue with Starship’s height, I’ve found and corrected the logic flow (related not to the height limit, but to a width component which is how I missed it). It made starship appear 107m high instead of 121m. Here’s the correct version:
